Colin Purrington > I'm always impressed with the group effort of plants germinating in packs.  The above is impressive, but I've seen them come up through asphalt, too.  A single seedling would have a much harder time of it.

Colin Purrington > Water lilies blooming at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.  I wished I lived closer to that place.
Colin Purrington > This is a doubly composite inflorescence.  Originally, dandelion "flowers" are heads with hundreds of tiny flowers.  This plant is a mutant, with approximately 6 heads fused together, with matching stem that provides additional support.
